Si Chucky - que pasa broki, so ... would it be fair to say 'Brukeaton' is the more harder urbanized sound with 'Brobombique' being the more organic acoustic sound of then? Does this also mean we may now start to see the emergence of contemporary 'Soulsa' & 'Drum + Bomba' as well as Puerto Rican 'Hip Top' (Ha!) styles of music too?
Big up the Calle 13 - Tango del Pecado - Rojbad mix - Big Tune, RUFFF!!!

I would definitely say brukeaton is a more urban sound than "brobombique", although i dont call it that, we might call it broka or even puerto rican broken beats, but locals certainly dont call it brobombique and me at least have never seen it on a flyer listed as that. As for the "real" scene and i mean producers and dj's by this, still call it broken beats or broka between us cuz weve fought hard to finally get it as an accepted genre that people recoginze, as supposed to when i first moved back even dj, promoters and much less locals knew what it was. Now djs are turning up all over the island and were not about to star calling it bruk to start all over again. Future Soul wont work here either cuz as you know there is bascially no soul movement here. "Soulsa"!! Ok thats a knew one gonna have to explain that one to me. As for drum and bomba Ive been telling local dnb producers to fuse for years, no one has stepped up to the plate, most are hard, dark and techy, We call it drumbi so maybe Dromba would be a better name. Now Hip House or Hip top or Houseton, yes i think i will start poping up alot more. I certainly think that our work has influenced producers like dj giann in Jowell and Randy's new track No te Veo and Zions new track is quite bruk also. Brukeaton hopefully will change the musical landscape as did baile funk in brazil lets hope. Now i need to get back to panama and research that Panamanian Soca, shit was crazy too! Ill be back in Nov. see how this brukeaton goes over there since reggaeton came from there originally and they generally experiment with more rhythms and tempos.
