Event Description

The summer of 2009 isn’t looking like the usual total wash out yet… so come squelch around to the sound of acid instead at DISCO FIASCO’S Rave! Bristol’s very own acid house legend, Placid, is coming down to get you all jacking along with resident ravers Boris Pecker and STARah in Proud’s South Gallery.

Placid started selling mix-tapes on a market stall in 1988 and has been djing for more than 20 years. He runs the famous ‘www.acid-house.net’ where you’ll not only find a database of everything ‘acid’ but also some of his amazing mixes. He holds down a weekly radio show on www.future-music.co.uk and a residency at Bristol’s Under_score night, and has recently finished a US tour of Detroit and New York as well as having just got back from playing at Glastonbury! Expect to hear anything from frantic acid house to New York Disco and all the good bits in between! Placid will be plundering the depths of his record collection to find stuff you either won’t have heard for a while or have never heard...
